What Should You Actually Pay Per Poly Mailer? A 2026 Price Benchmark

28 sept 2026

Method and sources are at the foot of this page. All Uline figures carry their model number and were recorded from uline.com on September 28, 2026.

A case of 10x13 poly mailers is $20 at Uline. The same size is $65.99 here. Uline looks three times cheaper. It isn't: their case holds 100 mailers and ours holds 1,000.

Per piece, that is $0.200 against $0.066.

Case price is the number every distributor puts in front of a buyer, and it is the one that tells you least. Below are the per-piece figures for 10x13 poly mailers at Uline's published prices and ours, the specification you should check before you compare any of them, and the three situations where the purchase order should go to Uline instead.

How these numbers were compared

  • Per piece, not per case. Case price divided by case count. Nothing else is comparable.
  • Published prices only. Uline list prices as shown on their product pages on September 28, 2026, at the quantity break stated in each row. No negotiated or contract pricing on either side.
  • This is a price comparison, not a specification equivalence claim. Film thickness, construction and closure differ between products and between suppliers. Ours are stated below; Uline publishes theirs on each product page. Check both before drawing a conclusion.
  • Freight excluded from both. Both suppliers ship these volumes freight-included within the contiguous US.

Per-piece price comparison of Uline and JiaroPack 10x13 poly mailers, with a 2 mil, 2.5 mil and 3 mil thickness guide

10x13 poly mailers, per piece

Product Construction Case Case price Per piece
Uline S-21880, colored 3-layer co-extruded PE; thickness as published by Uline 100 $28–$30 (20+ cases $24–$26) $0.280–$0.300
Uline S-3354, tear strip Co-extruded PE, tear strip; thickness as published by Uline 100 $20, any quantity $0.200
Uline S-21878, bulk pack 3-layer co-extruded PE; thickness as published by Uline 1,000 $194 (20+ cases $176) $0.176–$0.194
JiaroPack 10x13 2 mil polyethylene, self-seal 1,000 see product page from $0.059

Uline's bulk pack is the closest format comparison — same 1,000-count case, same co-extruded polyethylene construction — and it is close to three times our per-piece rate. Their 100-count case is a convenience format and is priced as one. Both are legitimate products sold to different buyers.

Before you compare price, compare mil

Poly mailers are specified in mil, one thousandth of an inch. It is the single number that decides whether a mailer is right for what you ship, and it should be settled before price enters the conversation.

Thickness What it is for
2 mil The e-commerce standard. Apparel, soft goods, accessories, printed material, anything without hard corners. This is what we stock.
2.5 mil A common distributor grade. Modest additional puncture resistance for mixed catalogues.
3 mil and above Heavier or angular goods, hardware, anything that can work a corner through film. If you ship these, buy 3 mil — from us or anyone else.

Our 10x13 is 2 mil. That is stated plainly because a buyer comparing suppliers deserves to compare like with like, and because the answer for most apparel and soft-goods sellers is that 2 mil is the correct specification rather than a compromise. If your catalogue includes hard or angular items, the honest recommendation is a heavier film, and we would rather tell you that than sell you the wrong mailer once.

Every supplier publishes this figure, Uline included. Take it from both product pages before you compare the prices above.

Three times you should buy from Uline

Three cases where Uline is the better purchase: heavier film, 100-count cases, and next-day delivery

A comparison that finds the author cheaper on everything is not a comparison. Three cases where the purchase order should go to them.

When you need a heavier film than we stock

Our poly mailers are 2 mil. Uline's range runs across several thicknesses, and if your goods need 3 mil or more, they have it on the shelf and we do not. A mailer that fails in transit costs more than any price difference on this page.

When you want 100 pieces, not 1,000

Their case is 100 poly mailers; ours is 1,000. Testing a new size, running a seasonal SKU, or shipping fewer than about 300 orders a month — the smaller case ties up less working capital and less floor space, and the carrying cost of a 1,000-count case you will take a year to use exceeds the per-piece saving. The unit-price advantage starts paying at roughly 2,000 to 3,000 pieces a year per size.

When the reorder is already late

Uline operates fourteen distribution centres with next-day delivery across most of the country. We ship from Los Angeles, Houston and New Jersey — two to five days to most addresses. If you are out of stock this morning, order from them this morning. Holding a one-case Uline order as a buffer and placing standing volume with us is a rational split, and a number of our customers run exactly that way.

The arithmetic on your own volume

Annual spend on 10x13 poly mailers at 2,000 orders a month, Uline compared with JiaroPack

Two thousand orders a month in a 10x13 poly mailer is 24,000 mailers a year.

Source Per piece Annual spend
Uline S-3354 $0.200 $4,800
Uline S-21878, 20+ cases $0.176 $4,224
JiaroPack, one case at a time $0.066 $1,584
JiaroPack, four cases at a time $0.059 $1,416

Compare like with like: buying one case at a time, $4,800 against $1,584. Buying in bulk on both sides, $4,224 against $1,416. Either way, between $2,808 and $3,216 a year on one size, at the same 2 mil specification you are probably already using.

To run it against your own numbers: take last year's packaging spend, divide by orders shipped, and you have your true per-order packaging cost. Multiply the per-piece figures above by the same order count and compare. If the gap does not clear the cost of switching — a purchase order, a sample check, and one reorder cycle of overlap — it is not worth doing, and five minutes of arithmetic has told you so.

Why the gap exists is a longer answer: distribution infrastructure, catalogue marketing, split-case picking and deep stock across 45,000 SKUs are all carried in the unit price. We wrote that up separately in Why Is Uline So Expensive?. The short version is that you are buying availability, and for an operation that cannot afford a stockout, availability is worth paying for. The error is paying for it when your business reorders the same three sizes on a schedule.

Four things to do with this

  1. Settle the specification first. Record mil and case quantity on the spec sheet before any price is discussed, with every supplier.
  2. Convert every quote to per piece. Case price divided by case count. It takes ten seconds and it is the only comparable figure.
  3. Split the supply. Standing volume with the lower-cost source, a one-case buffer with the faster one. Ordinary procurement practice, not disloyalty.
  4. Re-benchmark annually. Resin cost and freight move, and so does every published price list. A 2024 benchmark is not a benchmark.

Our pricing, without a sales call

Case pricing and per-piece rates for every size sit on the product pages — no account, no login, no quote request required to see a number: poly mailers, bubble mailers. Freight is included from Los Angeles, Houston or New Jersey.

Above four cases per size, or for a thickness or dimension we do not stock, request a quote and we will price it by pallet. To check the film before committing to a case, order a sample pack.

FAQ

Why is Uline's case price lower when their per-piece price is higher?

Their case holds fewer mailers. A $20 case of 100 poly mailers is $0.200 each; a $65.99 case of 1,000 is $0.066 each. Divide by the case count before comparing.

How thick are JiaroPack poly mailers?

2 mil polyethylene with a self-seal closure. That is the standard specification for apparel, soft goods and printed material. For hard or angular items, use 3 mil or heavier from whichever supplier stocks it.

Does a lower price mean a thinner mailer?

Not by itself. Thickness is a published specification and should be compared directly, supplier to supplier, before price is considered. Ask for the mil rating every time, including from us.

What is the minimum order?

One case: 1,000 pieces for 10x13 poly mailers. No account minimum and no annual commitment.

How often do these prices change?

Both suppliers adjust with resin cost and freight. The Uline figures here were recorded on September 28, 2026 and carry model numbers so they can be verified directly. Ours are live on the product pages.

Method and sources

Uline prices were recorded from the S-3354, S-21878 and S-21880 product pages on uline.com on September 28, 2026, at the list prices and quantity breaks shown there. Construction descriptions are as published by Uline on those pages; film thickness for those products is published by Uline and was not restated here. JiaroPack prices are current case pricing at the date of writing and are shown live on our product pages; per-piece figures are stated as "from" because case pricing moves with resin cost.
